FLUX 3 Max API

FLUX 3 Max is served through fal's API. This page lists the endpoints, the parameters, the output and the price, from fal's own documentation, so you can call it yourself. Flux3Max.io is a website on top of that API; we do not sell API access.

Want to see a clip before you write code? 180 credits for 5 seconds at 720p.

The three endpoints

All three take a prompt and return one video. Billing is per second of output video and is the same for text and for images.

Endpoint idInput you add to the promptUse it for
blackforestlabs/flux-3-max/text-to-videoNothingA video from words alone
blackforestlabs/flux-3-max/image-to-videoimage_url (required), end_image_url (optional)Start from a photo, and optionally end on a second one
blackforestlabs/flux-3-max/keyframes-to-videokeyframes: 1 to 10 images, each with a frame_indexPin images at several points of the clip

The image-to-video page on this site covers the photo mode; keyframes mode is not in our tool yet.

Parameters

From fal's OpenAPI schema for the three endpoints. Only the prompt is required on the text endpoint.

ParameterTypeDefaultAllowed values
promptstringnoneThe scene: subject, motion, camera and sound
durationinteger55 to 20, whole seconds
resolutionstring720p720p or 1080p (1080p is an upscale of the 720p render)
aspect_ratiostringautoauto, 21:9, 2:1, 16:9, 4:3, 1:1, 3:4, 9:16; auto is 16:9 for text and follows the first image otherwise
generate_audiobooleantruetrue or false
reasoning_levelstringhighlow or high; high spends more effort on the prompt and takes longer
seedintegerrandomOptional

A 16:9 video at 720p is 1280 by 704 pixels at 24 frames a second. In our 24 clips a 5-second clip took 10 to 34 seconds to come back and 15 and 20 second clips about 100 seconds.

Calling it: queue, status, result, webhook

fal's client libraries hide the protocol. In JavaScript, fal's own example is a single call to fal.subscribe with the endpoint id and an input object, and the finished video address is in result.data.video.url. The same endpoints work over plain HTTP through fal's queue: you submit a request to queue.fal.run and get a request id, you poll its status until it is completed, then you fetch the result.

Two details we met in production. fal's status and result URLs use only the owner and the app (blackforestlabs/flux-3-max), not the endpoint path, and a URL with the endpoint path in it answers 405. And if you poll the result address and treat any answer other than 200 as still running, as our own provider layer does, you will never see a failure; a failed request is reported by fal's webhook, which you ask for with a fal_webhook query parameter on the submit call and which sends a status of OK or ERROR with the payload or the error. Use the webhook, and keep polling as a fallback.

The result has a video object (url, content_type, file_name, file_size, width, height, fps, duration, num_frames), the seed and a timings object. Copy the file to your own storage if you need it later: we copy ours into our own bucket for 30 days.

Price on fal

Billed per second of output video, with no minimums and no subscription, the same for text to video and image to video.

ResolutionRegular pricePromotion until 7 Nov 2026
720p$0.17 a second$0.0425 a second (75 percent off)
1080p$0.29 a second$0.0725 a second (75 percent off)

A 5-second 720p clip is $0.85 at the regular price. fal's model page lists commercial use; read fal's terms for the details.

Who serves it, and what we do

fal says FLUX 3 Max is fal Research's model, post-trained with Black Forest Labs on FLUX 3. fal is the provider we could verify. Black Forest Labs' models page describes FLUX 3 Max and calls it an API model, but its API documentation index, as we read it, has no FLUX 3 Max entry, so we cannot point you to a second provider. We did not verify any other.

We run FLUX 3 Max through fal's API for the tool on this site and sell credits for it, not API keys. If you want to build on the model, create a fal account and call the endpoints above. If you only want videos, the tool does it with a price in credits before you start.

Flux3Max.io pricing

FLUX 3 Max API questions

Is there a FLUX 3 Max API?

Yes. fal serves it through three endpoints: text-to-video, image-to-video and keyframes-to-video, under the ids blackforestlabs/flux-3-max/….

How much does the FLUX 3 Max API cost?

On fal, $0.17 a second at 720p and $0.29 at 1080p, with a 75 percent promotion until 7 November 2026 ($0.0425 and $0.0725). Billing is per second of output video.

Can I use FLUX 3 Max through Flux3Max.io's API?

No. Flux3Max.io is a website with a tool and credit packs; it has no API. To call the model from code, use fal's API.

How do I get a failed request reported?

Ask for a webhook with the fal_webhook query parameter on the submit call. fal posts a status of OK with the result or ERROR with an error message. Polling the result address alone does not report a failure.

What does the API return?

A video object with the file address, content type, size, width, height, frame rate, duration and frame count, plus the seed and timing information.

Can I use the videos commercially?

fal's model page lists commercial use and its product page says content generated through the API can be used in commercial projects; read fal's terms for the details.

How many keyframes can I send?

The keyframes endpoint takes 1 to 10 images, each with a frame_index. Our tool offers a first and a last frame today.

Is this an official FLUX 3 Max API reference?

Flux3Max.io is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Black Forest Labs or fal; FLUX is a trademark of Black Forest Labs, and model names belong to their owners.
